Peak Reliability’s (Peak) team of highly qualified professionals assure the reliable operation of the high voltage transmission system in the Reliability Coordinator (RC) Area in the Western Interconnection. As the RC, Peak partners with utilities and performs operational planning studies and monitors the real-time power grid in order to identify and resolve potential issues on the Bulk Electric System (BES). Peak’s RC Area includes all or parts of 14 western states, British Columbia and Northern Baja, Mexico.

RC System Operations is staffed by RC professionals who play a key role in Peak’s reliability mission. From our offices in Vancouver, Washington and Loveland, Colorado, this team assures system-wide reliability and provides oversight of the RC Area in the Western Interconnection. To help understand the state of the power system in real time, RCs continuously monitor and study the BES, interpreting well over 140,000 real-time data points, and using many advanced analytical tools..
